Buxton is situated 8 miles due north from the city centre of Norwich, Norfolk.
It nestles in the Bure Valley, with Aylsham to the West and Coltishall to the East.
North Walsham is to the North East, but never mind.
Cromer is due North, but remember to stop when you get to the wet stuff.

Directions:

From Cromer: Follow A140 towards Aylsham & Norwich, take last turn left before end of Aylsham Bypass, signposted Wroxham (B1354) and keep going until you meet Buxton.

From Norwich: Head towards the Airport, and keep going towards Aylsham on A140. About 5 miles later (just past Stratton Strawless hall) turn right onto Parish Road, go through Stratton Strawless, (mind the nasty bends) long straight, at T junction turn left and there you are.

The Mill at Buxton has a mention in the Domesday Book, along with some still surviving residents.
Buxton has two pubs, one also a restaurant, a chippy, a Post Office, and a Village Hall. There is no garage in Buxton selling vehicle fuel.
We also have a thriving Playgroup

We have the usual scouting organisations:- Brownies, Guides, Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts.

Dont forget the Photographic Club, the WI and all the other village huddles which get together on a regular basis.
The Black Lion pub has its own music club at www.blacklionmusic.co.uk
A bus service runs through the village, timetables to be posted soon.
No taxis in the village, but details of local firms should appear on the Transport page.

If some kind soul would like to write a more in depth version of this page, please do so and email it to us, as we simply haven't the time to do anything too flash at the moment. Remember, this site is free, and is done in our spare time!
